According to ministry of information and technology

The Ministry of Information Technology has received many complaints from various sources including several reports about misuse of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms for stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data in an unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India.

India government was also getting very message from public to ban this chines apps, ofcourse not all app but many people rise their voice to ban some apps like tiktok and other.

According to notice or web message release, The Ministry of Home Affairs, The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre has also sent an exhaustive recommendation for blocking these malicious apps.

What is the legal point of view of this action?

The ban has been done under under section 69A of the Information Technology Act 200.

Government is Procedure and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules 2009.
